From the recording California Christmas
Lyrics
California Christmas
By Tracey Graham and Maureen Russell
Salvation Army Santa, flip flops on his feet
Sits beneath a palm tree flashing blue and red and green
It’s 9pm and it’s seventy degrees
The kids ride by on skateboards, instead of sliding by on sleds
And we’re all sipping frappucinos with sunglasses on our heads
CHORUS
It’s a California Christmas
We will walk along the strand
Give me a California Christmas
Let’s go down to the ocean
And build a snowman out of sand
I remember last December walking by that icy lake
He had on that reindeer sweater, the one my grandma made
He handed it to me and said he couldn’t stay
So this year I want sunshine and a condo at the beach
And a year’s supply of sunscreen underneath my tree
CHORUS
Surfboard by his side he stares (out) at the waves
Stands beyond the tide line so he won't wash away
An LA boy to brighten up my holiday
CHORUS
It’s a California Christmas
So forget those winter games we planned
Give me a California Christmas
Let’s go down to the ocean and build a snowman out of sand.
